Baseball Recap: Fillmore's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fillmore waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Keshequa Indians with a sharp 14-5 win. Considering the Eagles have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on James Hillman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Fillmore is 8-2 when Hillman posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Damon Potter, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Fillmore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keshequa only posted a batting average of .276.

Fillmore pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Keshequa, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Fillmore has already played their next match, a 5-4 victory against Arkport Central on the 1st. Keshequa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
