4A District 4 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Artesia extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 4 this week by beating Deming, 49-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Artesia took down the Wildcats 49-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gavino Saiz ran for 183 yards and caught one passes for 49 yards in the win.
Roswell's dynamic duo of Stephen Lucero and Jay Espinoza proved tough for Chaparral to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lucero threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns and Espinoza had 68 yards receiving. Joseph Lovato helped Roswell's passing attack out by catching three balls for 59 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Trevor Eulenbach of Cooper Henderson's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 678. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Coyotes' David Nunez has rushed for 371 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Lovato. The Roswell star has 15 catches for 330 yards.
Roswell led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on the Lobos. Lucero ran for 66 yards in the win.
