After flying high against the Princeton Bulldogs last Wednesday, the Neuse Charter Cougars came back down to earth. Neuse Charter lost to Vance Charter on the road by a decisive 51-33 margin on Wednesday. Neuse Charter has struggled against Vance Charter recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Cayley Cochran and Chloe Kozloff certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Cochran scored 13 points, while Kozloff scored eight points along with five rebounds. Cochran scored a full 39.4% of Neuse Charter's points, the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tionna Shelton was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Neuse Charter now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Vance Charter, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
