The Connersville Spartans will face off against the Delta Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Connersville turned things around against Greensburg on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Pirates.

Gavin Brannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Connersville is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-12 otherwise.
At the plate, Kolton DeBoard was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Winchester Community typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Delta proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Golden Falcons by a score of 11-7. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Golden Falcons: they've now won six in a row.
Ayden Mitchell tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Everrett Linn, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Gavin Case was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winchester Community only managed eight hits.
Delta's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Connersville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Connersville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Delta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Connersville couldn't quite get it done against Delta in their previous matchup on May 2nd as they fell 6-2. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
