After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ballard Memorial, the Cairo Pilots were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-22 victory over Martinsville on the road.
Leading Cairo to victory were Aaliyah Wilkerson and Trinty Posey. Wilkerson scored 22 points, while Posey scored 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilkerson has scored at least 25% of Cairo's points. Sa'Layah Purdiman was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Cairo's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Martinsville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Cairo will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Sandoval at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Martinsville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ramsey at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. Ramsey is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
