Myrtle has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Byers Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Myrtle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Myrtle, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-20 loss to Falkner.
Although Myrtle took the loss, they still got scores from Zane Hill, Wes Stanton, and Joe Kizer.
Meanwhile, Byers' recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-14 loss at the hands of Falkner.
Myrtle's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Byers, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Myrtle against Byers in their previous matchup back in October of 2019 as the squad secured a 46-14 win. Does Myrtle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Byers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
