AA Region VIII recap November 19, 2013
Dillon extended the longest winning streak in AA Region VIII this week by beating Wade Hampton, 56-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Wildcats.
Dillon took down the Red Devils 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Loris's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bennett Winslow threw for 119 yards and Ryan Bellamy had 93 yards receiving. On the ground Charoldric Williams chipped in 94 yards. Sigfreid Long helped Loris' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Winslow put up the best numbers in passing as the Lions bested Ridgeland/Hardeeville. Winslow's favorite target this week was Bellamy, who caught 3 passes for 93 yards.
Loris' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Winslow has thrown for 1,307 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Bellamy has 27 catches for 459 yards.
Loris' Levi Moody needs only 61 yards against Timberland next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Moody has rushed for 939 yards on 122 carries so far this year.
Jackie Hayes' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,305 from 1,418. The improvement was the result of a 56-0 victory over Wade Hampton last week.
