The Lamar Raiders will face off against the Hartfield Academy Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lamar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.5 goals per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lamar and Heritage Academy meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Raiders beat the Patriots by a goal, winning 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Lamar were the better team in the second half.

Logan Cross and Blake Harris scored both of Lamar's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Hartfield Academy lost 6-3 to Richland on Monday. The loss put an end to Hartfield Academy's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hartfield Academy fell to 3-1. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Lamar was able to grind out a solid win over Hartfield Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, winning 2-0. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
