It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Los Altos Conquerors can now relate to. They fell just short of Patriot by a score of 42-39. Los Altos just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Los Altos' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Castillo, who threw for 325 yards and six touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Dominguez, who picked up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Patriot was led to victory by Isaiah Miramontes and Josiah Felix. Miramontes rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Felix rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Felix was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
Los Altos' defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Patriot, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Los Altos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Patriot will be playing at home against Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
