During her four-year high school basketball career at Miller, Hannah Wilkerson often accomplished the unimaginable.

That trend continued over the weekend as the Cardinals competed for a chance to win the 2010 Class 2 girls state basketball title during the 2010 Show-Me Showdown II at both Mizzou Arena and the Hearnes Center in Columbia.
Although Miller fell short of bringing home the state title, Wilkerson left behind a trail of records and big numbers.
Following Friday’s 78-69 consolation win over Canton, Wilkerson became the first boys or girls basketball player to score 40 points or more in back-to-back Show-Me Showdown contests in the same season after pouring in 83 points collectively. Wilkerson knocked down 40 points against the Tigers after scoring 43 points in Thursday’s 71-60 semifinal loss to eventual state champion Harrisburg.
Angie Bonner held the former two-game mark for the girls when she scored 72 points during Southwest’s (St. Louis) participation in the 1981 Class 4A state tournament. Webster Groves’ Jim Krebs holds the boys mark of 61 points that he set in 1953.
Wilkerson’s 43-point outburst against Harrisburg surpassed the old single-game record of 41 points set originally by former Hickman Mills stand out Kim Scoggin in 1986. Brandie Roberts (Northeast) and Megan Johnson (Platte County) matched that mark in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
Wilkerson also tied Bonner’s mark of 18 field goals made in a game during the semifinal loss, and edged her 1981 record of 30 field goals made in two games by scoring 32 field goals in Thursday's and Friday’s contests.
She also shattered Tabitha Harris’ (Scott County Central) mark of 32 attempted field goals in a game with 41 against Harrisburg. Wilkerson’s 71 attempted field goals in the two games surpassed Lashonda Albert’s (Wellston-Eskridge) 1994 mark of 58.
Earlier this season, Wilkerson was able to surpass Melissa Grider’s state career scoring record of 3,211 points. With Miller’s elongated season the 5-foot-8 guard was able to extend her career point total to 3,648 in 118 games.
She became the second Show-Me State girl to score more than 1,000 points in a season after pouring in 1,139 points in 33 games this season, falling 92 points short of Grider’s 1989-90 total of 1,231.
