AAAA Region III recap Oct. 3, 2012
Nation Ford was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Lancaster 37-20. The Falcons came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
York extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region III this week by beating Fort Mill, 49-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Nation Ford's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Riley Hilton threw for 415 and three touchdowns and AK McCoy had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Andrew Barr chipped in 22 yards. Dijuan Ussery helped Nation Ford's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 140 yards.
Nation Ford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dalton Helms has thrown for 1371 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while McCoy has 33 catches for 715 yards. Daniel Jackson leads the league in rushing with 307 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between South Pointe and the Falcons . The Stallions comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while Nation Ford ranks 25th.
Two of the top units in AAAA Region III will face off this week when Northwestern takes on Clover. The Trojans' offense has scored 236 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Blue Eagles have allowed only 275 on the year.
York took down the Yellowjackets 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
