Loss or not, Unity Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Malachi O'Neal and Robert Allen. O'Neal shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight boards, while Allen posted 15 points. The game was O'Neal's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Vincent Allen, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Unity Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Downers Grove South, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
