The Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Challenger as Nebo Crossing Academy made off with a 56-36 victory. The win was just what Nebo Crossing Academy needed coming off of a 80-35 loss in their prior match.
Nebo Crossing Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Baker led the charge by scoring 27 points along with nine blocks and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least a third of Nebo Crossing Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner McKinney, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Challenger lost, one person who can't be blamed is Riley Annis. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Nebo Crossing Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Challenger, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Nebo Crossing Academy will be playing at home against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pinnacle Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. Challenger will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lake Lure Classical Academy at 5:45 p.m. on February 1st.
