Hononegah has gone 9-1 against Freeport recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Pretzels at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hononegah has eight straight wins, Freeport has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Hononegah made easy work of Guilford and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Irelyn O'Brian and Zoie Calhoun were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, O'Brian pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Calhoun tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. O'Brian has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, O'Brian went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Calhoun got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run. Those three hits gave O'Brian a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hononegah got a massive performance out of Addison Hulburt, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave Hulburt a new career-high. Mali McMaster was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Hononegah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Freeport lost 10-3 to Rockford Auburn on Friday.
Freeport saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Krzeminiski, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Hononegah pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Freeport, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Hononegah took their win against Freeport when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Pretzels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
