The Denmark-Olar Vikings won the last time they faced the Williston-Elko Blue Devils, and things went their way on Friday too. Denmark-Olar managed a 56-51 win over the Blue Devils. The win made it back-to-back wins for Denmark-Olar.
Treveon Hinton was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tykeen Ross, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Denmark-Olar's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Williston-Elko, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Denmark-Olar will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fighting Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Blackville-Hilda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday. As for Williston-Elko, they will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is ranked 172nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 179th).
