After flying high against the South Bison on Friday, the Kelly Walsh Trojans came back down to earth. Kelly Walsh fell 46-36 to Natrona County on Saturday. Kelly Walsh was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Natrona County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Kelly Walsh's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Nicholls, who scored 8 points. Duncan Gillum was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Kelly Walsh now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Natrona County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Kelly Walsh will face off against Thunder Basin at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Thunder Basin is ranked 41st, while Kelly Walsh is ranked 29th). Natrona County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverton at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
