The North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past St. John with a 80-75 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why St. John lost, one person who can't be blamed is Simon LaRocque. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LaRocque has scored all season. Cashmyn Belgarde was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for St. John, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
