The Brandon Academy Scorpions posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Canterbury 62-42. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Leading Brandon Academy to victory were Shavon Birch and Jeremiah McNeely. Birch dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, while McNeely dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Birch has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Hawes, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Brandon Academy pushed their record up to 6-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 52.33 points. As for Canterbury, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Brandon Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Tampa Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Tampa Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Canterbury, they will be playing at home against Pinellas Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Pinellas Park is ranked 684th, while Canterbury is ranked 686th).
