The Syracuse Bulldogs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 55-47 win over Stanton County. This was a revenge game for Syracuse, as the team was forced to settle for a 40-33 defeat when these two played last Saturday.
Despite the loss, Stanton County saw an underclassman step up: David Crane dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Crane hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Gerardo Robles was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Stanton County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will challenge Wiley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wiley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 278th in Colorado, while Syracuse is ranked 64th in Kansas). Stanton County will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Southwestern Heights at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
