The Elgin Comets won the last time they faced the Gilead Christian Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Elgin really took it to Gilead Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-15 victory on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-8.
Elgin was led to victory by Delainy Boles and Maycee Muselin. Boles scored 13 points, while Muselin scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Wall, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Elgin and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Gilead Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin will take on Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Fairbanks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Gilead Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kingsway Christian at 6:30 p.m. Kingsway Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Gilead Christian is ranked 185th).
