The Bear River Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-27 loss at the hands of Mountain Crest. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bear River of the 59-33 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Saydee Pebley and Aubree Fry certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Pebley almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, while Fry scored 11 points.
Bear River has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Mountain Crest, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bear River will take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan is on a six-game streak of home losses, Bear River an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Mountain Crest, they will head out on the road to challenge Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Crest is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
