The Rossford Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Otsego Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Rossford and seven for Otsego.
Last Monday, Rossford lost to Fostoria at home by a decisive 37-23 margin. Rossford has not had much luck with Fostoria recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Otsego suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Genoa Area, falling 62-25. While losing is never fun, Otsego can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while Genoa Area is ranked 348th).
Despite the loss, Otsego got a solid performance out of Sophie Dimick, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Rossford's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Otsego, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Rossford barely slipped by Otsego in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 44-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rossford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
