After a string of three wins, the Cedar Park Timberwolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rouse. Cedar Park has not had much luck with Rouse recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Cedar Park's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Faulkner, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Faulkner has scored all season. Nabil Ismail was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Rouse got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amarie Haywood out in front who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Brown, who scored 16 points.
Cedar Park's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Rouse, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Park will take on Liberty Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Cedar Park likes a good challenge. As for Rouse, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Leander at 7:00 p.m. Leander will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Rouse is ranked 27th).
