Middle Creek really took it to Fuquay - Varina for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-30 victory on the road. That 59-30 margin sets a new team best for Middle Creek this season.
Middle Creek was led to victory by Ava Skladanowski and Joi Pergerson. Skladanowski scored 14 points along with seven steals, while Pergerson scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Skladanowski continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariyah McCord, who scored six points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Fuquay - Varina still got an impressive performance from Chloe Webb, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Fuquay - Varina, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will take on Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Garner is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Fuquay - Varina, they will be playing at home against Willow Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Willow Spring is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57 points per game.
