Softball Recap: Westminster Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Westminster waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Tustin Tillers with a sharp 10-2 victory. Considering the Lions have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chelsea Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Jocelyn Aguilar was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Naomi Miranda was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Westminster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.

Westminster's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Tustin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster will face off against Katella at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tustin, they will challenge Godinez Fundamental at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
