The Decatur Seahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Wicomico Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Decatur has seven straight wins, Wicomico has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, everything went Decatur's way against North Caroline as Decatur made off with a 44-20 win. With Decatur ahead 30-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Brycen Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Amarian Manuel also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Wicomico fell victim to Parkside's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a 10-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.
Decatur's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Wicomico, they have fallen quite a ways from their 9-2 record last season and are now at 1-6.
Decatur barely slipped by Wicomico in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 13-12. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wicomico's Makhi Johnson, who rushed for 139 yards while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Decatur to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
