The La Porte Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Crosby Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. La Porte strolled past Crosby with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 43-27. Given La Porte's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Crosby is ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
La Porte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Kay, who gained 109 total yards.
Loss or not, Crosby got some senior leadership from Levi Fontenot who gained 122 total yards and two touchdowns and Kade Eudy who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns.
La Porte's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points per game. As for Crosby, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
La Porte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crosby will be playing in front of their home fans against Goose Creek Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goose Creek Memorial has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 2.
