The Hampton Hawks lost against the Giltner Hornets back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hampton fell 55-42 to Giltner. Hampton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Ferguson, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Ferguson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Jack Bullis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Giltner, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will take on Shelby-Rising City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Hampton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Giltner, they will head out on the road to square off against McCool Junction on Friday. McCool Junction will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Giltner surely won't give up without a fight.
