Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Byron). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Red Wing Wingers 89-53. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Wingers are ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Byron's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Red Wing, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.

Byron won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goodhue at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Byron has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Red Wing will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Lewiston-Altura at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.
