Softball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bishop Montgomery made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bishop Montgomery Knights were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Macey Kim was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Abigail Green was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Brooke Patterson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bishop Montgomery's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Bishop Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-1 victory against St. Monica on the 20th. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, they have also already played their next match, a 14-6 win against Bishop Conaty-Loretto on the 20th.
