Loudoun Valley is a perfect 7-0 against Rock Ridge since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Vikings will take on the Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Loudoun Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over Dominion on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Hailey White and Maddie Howell made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, White tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Howell pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. White has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, White got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Howell went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Howell a new career-high.

In other batting news, Loudoun Valley got a massive performance out of Anna Ramos, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Ramos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Dunkerley, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Loudoun Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Rock Ridge finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They came up short against Tuscarora, falling 12-2. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Rock Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riya Cherukuri, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Rock Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Loudoun Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Loudoun Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Rock Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Loudoun Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Rock Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
