When it comes to explaining why Ben Lomond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dory Jenson. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three blocks. Jenson scored a full 51.9% of Ben Lomond's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clearfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ciara De La O led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Xiyah Yarbrough, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Clearfield, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Ben Lomond will head out on the road to face off against Maeser Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 124th, while Ben Lomond is ranked 103rd). As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Weber at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Weber is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
