Brennan is 9-1 against Holmes since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Brennan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Brennan took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Marshall by a score of 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won nine in a row.
Natalie Gonzales looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Avery Leatherman was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyn Salas, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Brennan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Holmes lost 13-1 to Harlan on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskies have suffered against the Hawks since March 11, 2022.
Holmes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydnie Rios, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Holmes' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10. As for Brennan, their record is now 11-7.
Holmes' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Brennan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Holmes, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Brennan keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?
Brennan beat Holmes 7-3 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
