The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Three Forks falling 65-49. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Jefferson: they've now lost nine in a row.
MacKenzie Layng continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Jefferson, scoring 18 points along with seven assists and four steals. Layng is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Miller, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Three Forks' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Jefferson, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Three Forks won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ennis at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Montana (Ennis is ranked 51st, while Three Forks is ranked 48th). As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against East Helena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
