The Booker T. Washington Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Hamilton Wildcats on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 85-77 to the Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (66), Booker T. Washington still had to take the loss.
Hamilton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Timothy Matthews out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan McGee, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds.
Booker T. Washington has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker T. Washington will face off against Manassas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton is on the road again on Friday and play against Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Memphis Business Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 552 points over their last seven matches.
