Geneseo is 8-1 against Quincy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Maple Leafs are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Geneseo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Geneseo can't be too worried about heading out to take on Quincy: they just beat Sterling at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Maple Leafs won by a run and slipped past the Golden Warriors 3-2.

Kendyl Wassenhove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Madisyn Buysse was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Quincy). They blew past Augusta Southeastern 29-4 on Wednesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Suns recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Quincy let Ivy Winter and Avary Hlubek run wild. Winter went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs, while Hlubek got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Hlubek a new career-high. Kamryn Hlubek was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Quincy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Geneseo's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Quincy, their record now sits at 11-18.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Geneseo hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Quincy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Geneseo's way against Quincy when the teams last played back in April, as Geneseo made off with a 12-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maple Leafs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
