The Forrest County Agricultural Aggies will head out on the road to face off against the Lawrence County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrence County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Forrest County Agricultural, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Forrest County Agricultural never let their opponents score. They came out on top against Sumrall by a score of 10-0. The win was just what Forrest County Agricultural needed coming off of a 49-8 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County took a serious blow against Columbia on Friday, falling 41-14. While losing is never fun, Lawrence County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Columbia is ranked 15th).
Despite the loss, Lawrence County had strong showings from Kannon Cato, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and Ahmad Hardy, who rushed for 117 yards. Hardy hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Forrest County Agricultural's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lawrence County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Forrest County Agricultural came up short against Lawrence County in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 47-42. Can Forrest County Agricultural avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
