The Lansdowne Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Dundalk Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lansdowne has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 18.
Lansdowne suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 60-30 loss at the hands of Milford Mill Academy. While losing is never fun, Lansdowne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Milford Mill Academy is ranked 126th).
Meanwhile, Dundalk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 47-41 to Owings Mills. Dundalk has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lansdowne's defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Dundalk, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Lansdowne, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-45 loss to Dundalk when the teams last played back in January of 2015. Can Lansdowne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
