The Okawville Rockets are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Belleville West Maroons at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Okawville came up short against Nashville and fell 62-49.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Madisyn Wienstroer, who scored 13 points. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Rhodes, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Belleville West was the victim of a tough 47-27 loss at the hands of Althoff Catholic on Thursday. Belleville West was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-5.
Okawville's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2. As for Belleville West, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything went Okawville's way against Belleville West in their previous matchup back in January as Okawville made off with a 59-34 win. Will Okawville repeat their success, or does Belleville West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
