6A Three Rivers recap October 8, 2013
Lakeridge was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Lincoln. The Pacers came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A Three Rivers this week, Clackamas beat West Linn 40-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Eric Dungey threw for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Taylor Stinson was the best receiver in the league this week as Clackamas beat the Lions. Stinson racked up 6 receptions for 111 yards. Nick Krska helped Clackamas' passing attack out by catching 10 balls for 112 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lakeridge's Dungey and J.R. Mclaughlin have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Dungey has thrown for 1,668 yards this season, while Mclaughlin has 36 catches for 797 yards. Dan Sherrell from Joe Bushman's team leads the league in rushing with 1,186 yards.
The marquee game in 6A Three Rivers this week will be the clash between Tom Smythe's team and Canby. The Pacers enters the contest ranked 21st in the state, while the Cougars ranks 12th.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Lakeridge's Mclaughlin goes up against Canby's Jace Cates.
Conner Mitchelf of the Oregon City is just 93 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Mitchelf has rushed for 907 yards on 132 carries so far this year.
Next week's game between the Pacers and Mike Vaught's team will feature an aerial matchup as Dungey tests his arm against Cates' defensive ability.
Lakeridge led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on the Cardinals. Dungey ran for 144 yards in the win.
