The Richwood Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 13th straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 72-52 loss at the hands of Pocahontas County. Richwood has not had much luck with Pocahontas County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Richwood still got an impressive performance from Grant Russell, who scored 20 points. That was a full 38.5% of Richwood's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Barnhouse, who scored 14 points.
Richwood's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Pocahontas County, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richwood will play host again and welcome Greenbrier West, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Tuesday. As for Pocahontas County, they will be playing at home against Meadow Bridge at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Meadow Bridge is ranked 120th, while Pocahontas County is ranked 119th).
