Pine Crest won the last time they faced St. John Paul II Academy, and Sofia Collado did her part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles on Thursday thanks in part to Collado, who had 34 assists and five aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 12.7 assists per game.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-18.

Pine Crest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Foreman, who had 11 digs. Foreman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Despite the loss, St. John Paul II Academy still got an impressive performance from Emily Rodriguez, who had 12 assists and eight digs.

The win got Pine Crest back to even at 6-6. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Pine Crest will face off against North Broward Prep at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Basilica on the 12th.
