After a string of five wins, the Gibbs Gladiators's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridge View. Gibbs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridge View apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Ridge View found their leader in underclassman Simone Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anasia Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Ridge View, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Gibbs and Wildwood will round out the year against one another at 9:55 a.m. on Friday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Wildwood is ranked 67th, while Gibbs is ranked 75th). Ridge View's road trip will continue as they head out to face Warren on December 29th. Warren has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
