It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons can now relate to. Their tough 56-32 loss to Canterbury on Thursday might stick with them for a while. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ajani Zahira, who rushed for 195 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Frantz Valbrun, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
It was another big night for Jordan Battle, who rushed for 386 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per carry. Battle really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Roman Wilder was another key contributor, rushing for 208 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.4 yards per carry.
Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Canterbury, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
