Apopka is a perfect 3-0 against Lake Nona since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Apopka Blue Darters will host the Lake Nona Lions at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Apopka 2.8, Lake Nona 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Apopka beat The Villages Charter 6-2.
Logan Page looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Collin VanFleet, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Lake Nona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Olympia. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.
Leonardo Suarez was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Tsubasa Sasaki, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Lake Nona's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Apopka, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Apopka has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lake Nona struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Apopka came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Nona in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 7-5. Does Apopka have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Nona turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
