The Arvada West Wildcats were the 59-47 winner over the Chatfield Chargers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Arvada West fell to Chatfield 39-34. Arvada West has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sara Walker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Harrison, who scored nine points.
Arvada West has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Chatfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Lakewood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Chatfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Columbine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Columbine is ranked 47th, while Chatfield is ranked 31st).
