If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Gloucester. On Friday they will take on Medford at 6:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Gloucester were humbled last Friday. They have to be aching after a bruising 12-37 loss to Marblehead. Gloucester's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, we expected Medford to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Everett, and they did. Medford found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-33 punch to the gut against Everett. Medford were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-27.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
