Baseball Recap: Northern Guilford Has No Trouble Against Ledford

Northern Guilford hadn't done well against Ledford recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-2 victory. Considering the Nighthawks have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Northern Guilford got a great performance from Yancey Burleson as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Nathanael Lorczak was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Breedlove, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Northern Guilford's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Ledford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Northern Guilford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Southwest Guilford on the 21st. As for Ledford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-6 defeat against Central Davidson on the 21st.
