The Sumner Stingrays will square off against the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sumner 3.1, Steinbrenner 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sumner is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Strawberry Crest with a sharp 19-4 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Stingrays in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Juliet Sederio, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Victoria Rudolph, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Sumner lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Steinbrenner, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Durant by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday.
Lilly Patton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.
At the plate, Hanna Goggan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Fortenberry, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Sumner's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Steinbrenner, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.
Steinbrenner's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Sumner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Steinbrenner, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Sumner keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
Sumner came out on top in a nail-biter against Steinbrenner in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Stingrays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
