Baseball Game Preview: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Jefferson Raiders

For the second straight game, Enumclaw will face off against Jefferson. The Hornets will head out to square off against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Enumclaw will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Enumclaw earned a 5-2 win over Jefferson.

Oliver Potts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon Wall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Eli Murphy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Enumclaw hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Enumclaw's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Enumclaw has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game.
